Hello,
My wife developed epilepsy after taking Zyban for two weeks. She now has to take medication for the rest of her life. Also, her short term memory is now very poor. There has never been any epilepsy in her family history and she was 31 when this developed. The first time she had a fit, then seizures five months after quiting the Zyban. Now she is on medication even though the doctor's can't find anything wrong with her, or even epileptic brain signatures.
She is also very depressed now. She feel incompetent and dumb. A feeling of worthlessness since she can't remember everyday events.
Has anyone heard of these long term side effects? Zyban didn't tell us about any of these.
Has anyone had any success on any type of lawsuit?
Thanks for the info,
Jason

Jason- read my reply to Rick P. Also, I know of other people who have been diagnosed with epilepsy after using Zyban, although they were previously healthy. Many doctors are more comfortable attributing seizures to epilepsy than to Zyban even though the drug had been pulled from the market for a couple of years because of the high incidence of seizures reported. We can only imagine what remains unreported. If you would like to send me an email I can put you in touch with others going through similar problems. I'd be happy to help in any way that I can. -Alison

Jason Im curious did your wife have any severe headaches? I was on this for a while and had two episodes of sudden severe headaches where nothing would stop the pain they thought I was having a brain bleed. I was never told that it was caused from the zyban but I feel like it was I have HEADACHES DAILY but never nothing that can compare to this.
