Meridia causing IBS?

I have only seen where Meridia has caused heart problems and seizures, and I pray for all these people to get well soon!  My heart goes out to each and everyone of you and your families.  But for me,  I took Meridia for a few months and lost over 50 lbs.  At first, it looked good, but my stomach kept hurting bad afterwards constantly, and I had to use the bathroom often  , missed alot of work, got too thin, and went to Dr., diagnosed with colitis & IBS, had to go to a specialist for the colon, etc... anyway, it's something I've never had a problem with before taking Meridia, I looked so bad, and drained. I still have the problem, going on 2 years now,  but take certain medicines to help, and I've always thought that the diet I was on, Meridia, did this.  Has anyone ever experienced the same from this diet?

Re: Meridia causing IBS?

Gee, I never heard that before.  I think there are continuing studies on the bad effects of this diet drug.  I suspect sometime the FDA will wake up and pull this thing off the market too.  Sorry to hear of your problems, it's a shame that we are prescribed stuff that makes us sick in the longrun and they keep it out there to get even more people sick.   roll
