I have been taking Oxy since November 2003. I started with 20mg 2x daily and for the past 3 months am at 40mg 3x. I does an adequate job at controlling my back pain. About a month ago, I started getting small areas of hives on my legs in the mornings. Over this past month, the frequency and severity of the hives seems to increase a bit every day. I put topical Benedryl on them and they go away in a hour or two. But I am getting these hives every day and they now spread to my upper torso also. I take my oxy exactly as prescribed, have never taken it any other way.
I am certain this is a reaction to the oxy, but don't know what to do about it. I had tried Duragesic patch before the oxy, and 25mg was not enough, and 50mg made me nauseous.
Any ideas or comments?
