My Mom

My mother has delusional disorder and the phsyciatrist prescribed her Zyprexa to start taking today.  She had a heart attack a month ago and she is also a diabetic.  I just read a post about this lady who's son died from taking this.  I am scared this might happen to my mom.  How can this be aan approved drug if it can cause you to die.

Should I tell my mom not to take it?  I don't want to scare her because she is already scared that people are following her every where she goes.
She can't work or drive.

What should I do?

Re: My Mom

It depends upon the person. I've taken it since Aug 2001 and have never seen any major problems. My doctor tells me to take a liver scanning every six months to check if my blood sugar levels have changed.
