This is my first post, so please bear with me if I do something incorrectly. My son recently died from illegally using oxycontin and they caught the individuals who sold it to him and they are charged with felonies of possession with intent to sell. My question is: Does anyone know of any cases where a death like this occurred and the sellers were charged with murder or even manslaughter? According to the Florida statutes, this charge would be applicable. Just like when John Bulishi (spelling) died, they went after his supplier and she was charged with something like that, I don't remember what though.

I also knew someone who allegedly died from the use of that drug; however, hers was legally prescribed by a physician. Here's the kicker on that case, though....her family had contacted the physician NUMEROUS times requesting that she NOT be prescribed that particular drug anymore because she was ALWAYS high, and her condition DID NOT warrant getting that particular drug as regularly as she did. Man, I hear this stuff is TERRIBLE!

I lost my 26 yr old son this past January as a result of him being addicted to his prescribed oxycontin. When he started taking it there were no lables on the rx bottle not to break crush or chew. He at times needed more pain killer so ended up breaking a pill in half thinking that a little bit more would help take the edge off and this is where all the problems began. I have watched him for over 2 yrs try to get off of the drug. It controlled his whole being, body mind and spirit and he was just devastated and in so much pain. He was afraid the drug would kill him iun the end and it did. I am also taking the drug and have for yrs. I know the effects it had on him and I was on it just as long or longer than him...so I know exactly how he was feeling. The drug contols my life like it did his. I am lost in the evil circle of the oxycontin drug and its life altering effects.
