3 years ago i was prescibed celebrex for osteoarthritis and degenerative cervical pain..............after 3 months of taking celebrex, i had a sycopal episode and TIA..........since that time i have had to take blood pressure meds and plavix on a daily basis..........i had no blood pressure problems before the TIA event.............recently i have had heart attacks and this required cardiac stenting.........i continue to take bp meds and plavix for life now..............i feel that celebrex put me on this roller coaster of health changes that will stay with me for life............the financial costs and the lifestyle changes have been astronomical..............has anyone else had a similar adventure with celebrex????? joanne

My husband was 52, a surgeon, and in great physical shape. He had a busy surgical practice and was also training for the Disney marathon. He felt some soreness in his groin and took Celebrex. About 1 week later he suffered a severe stroke and was in a coma. He He lost his home his job and everything. Today he is mentally and physically disabled. Do I think Celebrex was the cause???? Without a doubt in my mind he would be fine today had he not used the drug.

I began taking celebrex right after it came out in 1999. I had a heart attack (acute myocardial infarction of the inferior wall) about 26 months after taking this. I am on blood pressure medicine and it barely keeps my bp in check. I cannot help but think that celebrex had something to do with this. I had to have 2 stents implanted in my heart.
