MY BROTHER JUST GOT OUT OF DETOX ON SATURDAY. HE HAS BEEN ADDICITED TO OXY'S FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS,3 80MG A DAY.HE IS ONLY 20YRS OLD. I WANT TO HELP HIM BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW. DO I LEAVE HIM ALONE???? DO I KEEP HIM SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM AND ARE CLEAN???? HE SAYS HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR HIM. HE KNOWS HE HAS A FAMILY THAT LOVES HIM NO MATTER WHAT, BUT IF HE CONTINUES TO TAKE THESE PILLS HE WILL LOSE HIS SON. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

Hey there -
After the last five years of not leaving my basement (because that is where the oxys were) - I checked into a detox. I left after three days and now attend a Narcotics Anonymous meeting at least once a day whenever possible. I won't share my personal demons (don't want to glorify drug abuse),however, I can tell you that NA has given me the first glimmer of hope for being opiate free in many years.....a 2nd chance!!
Get him to one meeting......everything else will fall into place.
Good Luck -
