Does anyone have any current information on the Lymerix vacine lawsuits?

I received the vaccine in 2000 and have just been diagnosed with Lyme.  I spoke to a lawyer who said I would have had to experience symptoms soon after the vaccine in order to have a case.

I am 100% sure I have never had a tick bite, rash or anything like that.  For the past several years I have been experiencing some arthritis, which I thought was old age. (40+)

I believe that the Lyme disease was idle in my spinal fluid and has just recently raised its ugly head.  If I am correct there are thousands of others that just don't know they have it.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?  Please let me know.

My husband & I both got the Lyme vaccines in 1999.  Last year, we both started having the same symptoms - extreme fatigue, sore muscles, sore joints. I've also had numbness & tingling in my toes, depression, and sweats & chills that I had attributed to menopause.  My body aches so bad that I feel like I have the flu, but it's every day & it never really goes away. Both my husband and I have been tested for Lyme disease a number of times over the past several years, and the results always come back negative. Now we're thinking that it's not the disease that's made us sick, but that it's the vaccine.  We've asked our doctor, but she immediately gets very defensive and will only say that the vaccine was pulled from the market because it wasn't selling. (Gee, I wonder why?) I saw a rheumatologist last year, thinking maybe I had fibromyalgia, but all he did was test me again for Lyme, and then tell me that all I needed was more exercise.

I live in Delaware.  Does anyone know of a doctor anywhere in this area that has experience treating people with problems stemming from the Lyme vaccine?  Does anyone know of any kind of treatment that's been effective for them?  I know the class action suit on the Lymerix is over. I don't want to sue anyone - I just want to find a way to stop all this pain.

I had the Lymerix vaccine as soon as it came out in 1998.  I spent a lot of time out hiking in the mountains and wanted to be proactive...I'd met people with Lyme Disease and I knew I didn't want to take the risk.  Within six months of my last vaccination I was terribly sick for 2 weeks.  I was so weak I had to crawl to the bathroom, I couldn't eat, which was a good thing because I couldn't get out of bed.  I had horrible gastroentestinal problems, and a constant fever of 100-101.  I'd call my doctor and they told me I had a virus and to east small amounts of ice. 

I then developed numbness in my hands which alternated with stabbing pains.  I would wake up in the middle of the night with pain that felt like someone was trying to break my fingers.  I saw a rheumatologist who took x-rays; I was told I was  "probably" developing osteoarthritis.  Within a year I'd developed gall bladder problems; my gall bladder was emptying at less than 10% of it's normal rate.  My symptoms confused doctors, normally people develop gall stones, so it took approx 6 months before I had my gall bladder removed. 

Within the same year I started to become very weak and shakey; I was unable to get out of bed, I'd wake with the sweats that alternated with chills, I was unable to remember simple details, or what I'd said or done from day to day, even minute to minute.  I pushed myself to keep going and stay active, but had to quit my hiking, because I'd quickly become so fatiqued, weak, and unable to maintain my balance, I'd trip and fall, often hurting myself. 

I've struggled with these these worsening symptoms, and am now at the point that I have constant pain all over my body.  Especially in my lower back, my shoulders, shoulder blades, neck, arms, hands and fingers.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome, but my doctors feel there is something else going on that doesn't explain the extreme fatigue, muscle pain, memory loss and confusion. 

I was always a "doer".  I was extremely active and fit.  Now I sleep for 14 hours a day, wake extremely fatigued and in pain, and can't even carry a grocery bag, much less grocery shop.  I've been on short-term disability and may have to consider having to retire with disability at the age of 54. 

I struggle with the depression that comes with this syndrome, or whatever it is.  Some days I wonder if it will ever get better.  I make myself go out (Doc's orders) and try to walk 10 mins a day (should be 2 x's a day), then I come home and colapse.

I am confident that I am suffering from the long term side effects of the Lymerix vaccine.  If there continues to be serious long term problems with this drug, why is the class action suit closed?  What legal recourse do I have?   My disability and medical expenses have devasted me financially, and have taken a toll on me personally.
