After years of being on bc pills i've developed blood clots. Has anyone out there had the same experience?

I didn't have blood clots, but birth control pills can cause them. My sister used to take bc pills, but had to stop after she developed blood clots after her first daughter was born.
After years of being on bc pills i've developed blood clots. Has anyone out there had the same experience?
I'm recovering from a blood clot I got in my entire leg, was also hospitalized. I was on Necon, a bcp, not for that reason but to regulate my menstrual cycle due to my thyroid causing it to stop. I developed the clot 6 weeks after i started taking it, I stopped immediately & NEVER intend to take any other type of estrogen bcp or hrt of ANY kind again! It was an awful experience I will NEVER forget!

I would suggest you go the Medline web site and put in key words relating to your problem. You should be able to find abstracts to articles which can help you:

P.S. Also do a google search with key words including patient package insert
