I am now 55 years old. I took Premarin at a dose of 1.25 MG for over 15 years, had a bilateral mastectomy and complete hysterectomy due to fibroid tumers to numberous to count and had Ittitable Bowel Syndrome for all those years. The doctors diagnosed it as IBS anyway but I took myself off Premarin after hearing all the bad stuff about it lately and guess what happened? The IBS stopped IMMEDIATELY. I suffered SOOOOO bad for all those years, worrying what I can and can't eat and when I'd have to get up and run to the bathroom. I was afraid to eat away from home as the pain would be so bad in my stomach during the diarrhea. It hurt so bad I wanted to die sometimes. Also, my memory got so bad while on Premarin. I kept telling the docs that something just wasn't right as I was only in my 40s but they always said it was normal aging. I knew it wasn't as some days at work I'd totally forget how to turn on my computer and sign in. I got to where I had to write myself notes and leave them where I could find them. Now that I'm off that RX my memory seems to be getting better but I don't know if it will ever be the way it should be again. I hope people who read this will pass the info along to others so they don't have to suffer the way I did.
