My husband was on embrel from June, july, part of August. He started to suffer with symptoms in his hand of pain, numbness, weak muscles, unable to hold telephone; he has joint pain; he was put on enbrel for psoriasis and psoriactic arthritis originally. The dermatologist took him off immediately two weeks ago and said it could take up to 4 weeks for the symptoms to reverse. In the meantime, he can't make a fist, his fingers tingle, numb, hands are in total pain; joint stiffness. He says he'd rather die than be in this kind of pain. Can this truly all be from enbrel? I cry when I'm by myself. He's had tests for lupus, lyme disease, rheumatoid arthritis all which were negative. What do we do now?

Hello. I TOTALLY understand what he is going through!!! YES IT CAN DO THAT TO HIM! My FIRST shot of Enbrel I was completely immobilized and could not even get out of bed. I couldn't even straighten my own legs out 'while' in bed. My husband had to pull my legs out straight while I was screaming and crying. Then he had to PICK me up off the bed. I'm wishing you both the very very best and hope he is not still on Enbrel. Anyway, a little about myself. I'm 22 yrs old. Was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Raynaud's Phenomenon at age 16 (in 2002). Later diagnosed with Unknown Infertility (I believe due to medications) at age 21 (in 2006). Later again diagnosed with Pleurisy (I believe also due to medications) at age 21 (in 2006). I have been on Methotrexate, Prednisone, Enbrel, Humira, Remicade, Hydrocodone, Darvocet, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Etodol and many many many more. So I completely understand what your husband (and yourself) are going through! I'm wishing you both the very very best and if you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to contact me about anything at all. My email is allens_wife02@yahoo.com I'm praying for the both of you and wishing you all well!! Bless you both and take care!
Sincerely,
Keisha
