CURTIS,
Your claim passed and was paid under the original settlement. The 7th amendment capped the attorney fees for claimants who chose to go along with the 7th at a maximum of 40%. Some people are paying less than that because that's what they originally agreed to pay when they hired their attorney, but nobody in the 7th has to pay any more than 40% plus costs/fees. Claims paid under the original settlement don't have that limit on attorney fees, so that's why you had to pay 45%.

Just curious, Was the common benefit for both the 7th and the original settlement?

Yes, it's being deducted from every matrix payment in the original and every grid claim in the 7th.

If I was to guess and thats exactly what I'm doing I'd say we'll know something Monday.
But what do I know right!

I attempted to privately e-mail someone on this forum for some assistance in looking up my DRR# and letting me know what I could expect in a check from the fund. I recall that someone helped another member with this. If someone who knows how to do this would e-mail me so that I could give them the DRR# I would appreciate it. I tried looking on the 7th site and the AHP site to see if I could do it myself but I can't see how. Thanks in advance.

psychnursenm,
I resent my reply to your private message to me the other day looking for answers about your DDR#. You should look in your PM inbox. If you don't get it, PM me again and I'll see if I can do it over.
OK?

I was contacted by my attorney this morning, he said that he expected it in two to three weeks,

Got my letter telling me to call AHP and verify my mailing address. Fellow was very nice -- he's the FIRST ONE EVER to ask me how I was doing? How I was feeling.... it was nice to have someone ask..
He couldn't tell me anything about timelines -- not that I expected him to.. but -- the wheels are moving!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Expect what in two to three weeks? Payment from the 7th was mandated by the PTO to be paid no later that 30 days from the date the order was signed so that date is May 8th.

The money honey! The monies will get to the lawyers office next Friday. Then they hold it for 7 to 10 days for it to clear their bank and that is business days. Than they send it to you via mail so about two to three weeks before its in our hands.

Really, bet I have mine the day after the over paid paper pusher I call a Lawyer has it.
But then again I'm a bit of a Ass.

In looking back a year ago. I drove to my attorney and picked up my check and cashed it the same day on May 25, only 9 days after the following was posted on http://www.7thamendmentdietdrugs.com/news/.
(At that time they thought we would be paid the final distribution in August, 2007. DOH!)
May 16, 2007
Second Interim Distribution
Pursuant to Pretrial Order No. 7129, Second Interim Distribution checks have been calculated and printed for Category One Class Members who were "adjudicated" as of February 28, 2007. The checks are scheduled to be shipped as described here.

I wish I could drive to the lawyer but he is in Mississippi and I'm in Colorado. Than they send it to the lawyer in Co. So I'll play the waiting game. O Well

Isdlden, I sent you a PM.

Oh, but apparently there are ways around that. There was a motion to intervene document filed yesterday by one Texas lawfirm accusing another well known Texas lawfirm of, among other things, "disbursing proceeds from payments recieved from the Trust Administrator...from general operating accounts and NOT FROM restricted client escrow or attorney trust accounts"

Marie, have you found out anything about our refund ? I have a feeling that it may
take a very long time to receive it !

No, haven't heard anything other than that letter about verifying my address. My husband got one too a couple of days later. Unless they ask for an extension, they have until Thursday to file their distribution plan. Then there's another 15 day wait allowing for objections and assuming there are none, they could mail them shortly thereafter.
