Neurontin, which is known generically as Gabapentin, may be linked to suicide and suicide attempts. Neurontin is prescribed for epilepsy but has been prescribed for numerous off label uses. Neurontin was approved for sale in the mid-1990s as a treatment for epileptic seizures. However, it is believed that approximately 80 percent of all Neurontin prescriptions were filled for unapproved medical conditions.

If you or a loved one was injured by Neurontin, please complete the free case inquiry form on the right side of this page.

neurontin and hair loss

I have been prescribed neurontin for nerve pain in my leg related to a ruptured disc, I haven't experienced much in the way of side effects, I have been on 1200 mgs for 6 weeks, but have noticed an abnormal amount of hair loss over the past week and a half... I'm femail and terrified of losing my hair... I can't think of anything else that may have caused this ... has anyone else experienced this side effect from neurontin?

Re: neurontin and hair loss

I have been taking for over 2 years I believe and noticed a large amount of hair loss, depression, fatigue.  I stopped it and am no longer losing lots of hair, which was scary.   I thought the drug was helping the neuropathy in my feet, but it wasn't.  I have numbness in my feet, but when I was taking neurontin, I had a lot of burning in my feet, and the burning has gone away now.  I still have the numbness and unsteadiness, as a result of chemotherapy, but the burning has gone away.
