Topic: Zyprexa ruined my life

Message: You are not alone my friend,, I experienced some weight gain about 20lbs but when I tried to go off the drug all hell broke loose. Zyprexa changes your brain chemistry and sometimes for good. Here is my breaf story. I have tried to go off the drug 2 times. Both times I stopped,, I mean stopped sleeping. I felt like I was a the walking death. This went on for months and I had to go back on it to function. I sleep like a baby when I take it but no sleep after 3 days of not taking it. I even weaned off very slowly the 2nd time I mean months at half and finally got down to 2 mlg. Thought I was off it and stopped taking it and then 3 days later no sleep at all. I'm tired but cant sleep. I am now back on it and taking 7Mg a night but I only have a 3 month supply left and then i don't know what I will do. This drug is evil and wished I never went on it.. Good luck to you

Topic: can Zyprexa cause autism in child?

Message: Hello to everyone, My name is Alex and I live in Montreal, Canada. My wife (ex wife now) was on zyprexa 2.5Mg for anxiety, we decided to have a child her doctors suggested not to take zyprexa during the pregnancy but she continued the zyprexa, she had adiificult delivery which resulted in a c-section. My child was late in all the milestones of development. At 4 months my mother noticed a tremor, and we told the pediatrician but he said nothing, at 22 months he had full blown seizures (grand mal) so now he is on frisium and topamax for seizures and they are under control.he was diagnosed with truncal ataxia, epilepsy( because of the seizures)globa developmental delay and now he is being diagnosed with autism. So my question is : is there a relation between Zyprexa and autism while taking it during the entire term of pregnancy. As anybody exsperienced the same situation or similar??Hope to hear from you soon Alex

Topic: Zyprexa Stopped Working For Me So I Quit it

Message: Hi everyone! My name is Sami and from Dubai, The United Arab Emirates. I am 32 years old.My story with Zyprexa and pshchological mis-treatment/wrong-diagnosis is long(I can get into details about my experience with Zyprexa if you people want me to!)For now all I wanna say is that I have been taking it for 6 years(I dont know why I was taking an antipsychotic anyways!) If you asked me why I took it, was just coz it made me sleep and THATS it!Anyways since it stopped working for me for about a month I decided(guided by one of my psychiatrists - i have 2 by the way!) He suggested I do it gradually....I decided to quit it the cold turkey method! Its been 8 days now...Heres whats happening:My mood is stable if not perfectly perfectI am more energeticI can think much faster than before and respond quicker - I never got slow but now aI dont have any symptom of any psychological disorder whatsoeverGetting off this medication doesnt seem to be a difficult issue so far. Or maybe cause I never needed to take it anyways and was just addicted to it coz of my insomnia.Make Zyprexa your last option for treatment....It is addictive!I will keeps you guys updated.Peace!Sami

Topic: Zyprexa ruined my life

Message: I took zyprexa when I was younger-for anxiety, which is an off lable use of it. I started gaining weight then, and I went from being a chubby kid to being downright obese. Not long after I stopped it, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have been suffering immensly from it. Hard as I tried, I simply could not control my diabetes. My insulin resistance is terrible, I am on an insulin pump, and my A1cs have been extremely high.I want to caution people that they should not take this terrible drug for anything less than a life threatening situation. My life is forever altered. I face this evey day of my life. Every time I eat anything, with every blood sugar test, with every shot, with every non-healing infection, with every low-blood sugar, I think of the doctor who precribed this terrible medicine. If he had said that there was a slight possibility that I would suffer in such a manner I would never have agreed. I feel cheated. Cheated by the drug company, the doctor, the FDA, and the system that allowed a young child to suffer in the ways that I did. Parents, if you have a child on zyprexa, PLEASE look into this carefully. I wouldn't wish all this on my worst enemy. I am in contact with a lawyer, and I am most likely going to win a whole bunch of money. I almost don't want that. Are we implying that we can measure pain and suffering, shots and fingersticks, hospital visits and doctors offices with money? All the money in the world would not take away the pain I suffered as a child, and continue to suffer.

Message: I'm glad I found this site I'm too worried about having Neuro damage from Zyprexa.I was forced to be put on this drug after being arrested in 2002 and I have been taking it ever since but lowering the dose. This drug is effin expensive it helps with stress but I don't want the shakes I might as well jump off a bridge if that happens because I like my human hands.Stopped taking seroquel last night at 100mg and been taking Remeron for sleep instead now it's just a matter of weening off this damn drug.I missed a dose once and boy was I hearing voices not sure if it will be the same once I stop taking it.

Topic: USEFUL SITE re ISSUES SURROUNDING ZYPREZA LAWSUITS

Message: I have a 26-year old son, who was diagnosed with schizoprhrenia at age 19/ He's been on Zyprexa for several years now and has had liver failure, his gall bladder removed and has gained 70 pounds that doesn't seem to go away. I'm now worried about diabetes. Are these doctors even considering the risks when they prescribe these drugs?

Topic: Zyprexa withdrawal affects

Message: i was put on zyprexa, i belive in january, for anxiety(major history of eating disorders) i only took this medication for month and this is why: when someone sleeps for 11pm-8am and then again from 9am-4pm. this is not normal. i basically did this for the whole month i was on it. i wasn't very hungry either, but extremly thirsty, i am not normally a soda person, except for when being sick, and i would probably go through at least a 12pack of sodas per day. now, when i removed myself from the pill, i was constantly having numbness in my hands and feet for weeks. ialso would have the most real, horrific nightmares i have ever experienced in my life. i am 20 years old and have a child of my own, almost 4. i am not a child, but i surely had to call my mommy and daddy several times in the middle of the night, becuase of these extreme nightmares. i think these symptoms finally went away after bout a month. if u get off of this medication, be prepared
