I don't understand why your having such a terrible time with coumadin. My father, brother and sister all have a hereditary blood clot problem (my sister actually had a PE after her first child was born. Thank God she was in the hospital and is alive today. She does, though, have a Greenfield Filter now). All of them have their blood checked regularly and sometimes their dosages changed, but no ones ever had the problems you've experienced. Maybe you ought to get a new doctor to oversee your care.

Hello My daughter was diagnosed with a arterial clot in her left leg in December 2007 she was 16 they started her on Coumadin. Her INR was hard to regulate finally they got it to a 3.1 but she was taking 15mg 5 days a week and 12.5 the other 2. After 2 mos of being regulated and a neg ultrasound the cardiologist decided to stop her coumadin and wait 3 mos and then do testing to find out the cause of her clot. She was only of it for 1 month before she developed a DVT in her left leg. So back on the Coumadin and Lovenox injections. She is discouraged because now she has to sit out of her favorite sport Softball due to the dangers of playing 3rd base while taking such large amounts of this medication. The Drs. said they had never seen a person have an arterial clot so young if anyone has please let me know what they found out any information could be helpful. Thanks. Donna
