I was taking Zyban for 4 months and had very
few side effects.I have now been smoke free
for about 10 months. After I stopped taking
Zyban I started to have many noted side effects such as headaches, anxiety, lack of concentration, aggitation, trouble sleeping,
and so on. These symptoms have now been going
on for approx. 5 months now and I can't seem
to shake them. I would like to hear from any-
one that may have or is going through the same troubles so I can determine weather it
can be possibly Zyban Withdrawal or weather
it is something else like an Anxiety Disorder
or Depression or WHAT.

I have heard reports of long term problems like those you describe from many people who have taken Zyban but no longer do so. My husband stopped taking it over a year ago and still has slurred speach, insomnia, stuttering, memory loss and several other problems. These were not his initial reaction to the drug. We first realized he was having an advers reaction when he became manic and psychotic (no history of mental illness). Go to the message board at http://www.geocities.com/borg_aw to find posts from people with the same problems that you describe. This may not be "withdrawal" from the drug but (not to scare you unnecessarily) actual brain damge CAUSEDby the drug. My husband recently had a PET scan done to determine this and others who have had this test done have reported that the results showed damage to the frontal lobe. Feel free to e-mail me with questions.

Zyban definitely can cause the "jitters" or the feeling of being "spaced out" -- even after you stop taking it. I know, I've been there too. Wishing you well.

Hi, i took zyban for about 2 months, and did stop somking, unfortunately as soon as i stopped the zyban i started smoking again. I did however experience feelings of depression and heightened anxiety whilst on it, which i do not normally experience...i wouldn't take it again.
