Bextra Reaction

I was prescribed Bextra for inflamation/swelling  in my hand after I had surgery for a broken wrist.  I began taking bextra and within 30 days began having some eye problems--- blurred vision and soreness. Monday I had a lesion in my right eye which my eye doctor believes may have come from taking Bextra.  I stopped taking it immediately and the lesion appears to be clearing up.  I go back to the eye doctor for a followup tomorrow.

Has anyone else had a similar eye reaction when taking Bextra?

Are there any long term affects/problems from this?

Re: Bextra Reaction

I recommend you perform a web search for Bextra and read all about it.  There is a lot of information about Bextra on the web, specifically relating to the MANY problems it has caused people.  I took Bextra for only about 2 weeks -- soon I developed red, hot lesions on my toes and on my hands, then a horrible rash and increasing redness in my hands and feet.  Within only a few weeks, my fingernails and toenails started becoming detached and huge chunks of dead skin fell off of my hands and feet.  I had swelling and rash almost all over my body, including my eyes.  That is not the entire story, but I am now disabled.  Be sure to do the search and read about Bextra.  If you hear of anyone who is taking it, warn them against it.  It can actually kill some people and cause horrible suffering, such as what I went through.  I am filing a lawsuit against the doctor who gave Bextra to me and against the company who manufactures it -- Pfizer/Pharmacia.

Re: Bextra Reaction

Due to the fact that I am pursuing a lawsuit, I cannot answer your question.
