Hi There!
You are so lucky to have found out. The facts are that physician are extremely poor at identifying a hypothrroid condition even when it is staring them in the face. The problem is that no one holds them accountable when they make an incorrect dx and they are rewarded for treating a side effect of hypothyroidism. Essentially they go for the gold. Until something changes and Jane and Joe are allowed to punish them where they live more and more people will be damaged. We are not better at dx depression our physicians are either less able to correctly diagnose or unwilling. There is a group in Washington, D.C. today questioning and bringing light to this very subject and trying to enlight our lawmakers as to the dangerousness of this particular classification. My Mom lived the nightmare. I was along for the ride because I was a minor atthe time and now adult child of a woman who had her adult life essentially robbed from her. They missed the boat many long years ago and my Mom very nearly lost her life to their "Tom Foolery". Good luck and God Bless. Cathy P.S. if you see any of Quinns postings read them and also if you see a documentary the Emperor and his Drugs take the time to see it. Dr. Peter Breggan has a lot to say on the subject.
