Disorientation, Dizziness, Spaciness

I was prescribed Vioxx on Tuesday afternoon for possible arthritis or osteoarthritis in my shoulder.  I took my first one Wednesday.  I took my second Thursday, and was almost immediately light-headed, disoriented, sick to my stomach and very gassy.  Even though I stopped taking Vioxx after just those two, the same symptoms continued through Sunday -- four days.  Today, Monday, I feel so much better it's amazing.  I have hypertension and take two drugs to control that, and now I'm wondering if my having that condition was part of the problem.  Fortunately, I am quite sensitive to unusual symptoms, so I stopped taking Vioxx right away.  The feeling I had, for four solid days and nights, was like being on serious downers.  It's been thirty years since I took illegal drugs, but I recognized the feeling right away.  The strange thing is that I went to the doctor to change my hypertension medication and just happened to mention my rotator-cuff pain, so she definitely knew I had high blood pressure.  Has anyone else had these symptoms?  They sound mild, but I shudder to think what it would have been like if I had taken Vioxx for a week!
