My doctor wants to prescribe embrel for psoriasis. He says it is the only drug that is proven to have NO side effects. My other choice is methotrexate, which he says has serious side effects. My question is has anyone taken enbrel for psoriasis and ARE there side effects to this drug??

There are definitely side effects, but with every medication it is pretty scarry when you read them all. The worst ones are Lupus and MS. The medication has been used for psoriatic arthritis for 5 years, but only since Feb '04 for psoriasis. I'm about to start taking the medication and I was nervous as the doctor told me about all the side effects. He said in the test group the placebo group had tha same results as the medicated group.

I have been taking Enbrel for three weeks. Two 50mg injections per week. I have severe psoriasis on my scalp and ear. So far i've had no side effects but also no improvement. How long does it take to start seeing results?
