Astra Zeneca’s popular schizophrenia drug Seroquel has been linked with a high incidence of diabetes, hyperglycemia and other blood sugar disorders. Seroquel is in the class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics, which are a newer class of antipsychotics touted as having a lower incidence of blood sugar disorders than the older medications such as Haldol and Thorazine. Seroquel was approved by the FDA in 1997.

Data from a study that was reported at a conference of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology in Philadelphia August 23 and 24, 2003 showed that patients on Seroquel had 3.34 times as many cases of diabetes as those on older antipsychotic drugs. The study of 19,878 U.S. military veterans between October 1998 and October 2001 indicated that Seroquel and other members of the new class of anti-psychotic drugs posed a higher risk of diabetes. The effect was most pronounced with Seroquel.

seroquel

I was using Seroquel for probably over a year (cant remember), due to this drug, ive had grinding teeth, that now ive got to put crowns on 12 teeth, thats going to cost over $9,000, I got Diabetes, Ive had a terrible "bone pain" in my feet, that I could hardly walk without being in pain, my Cholesterol was very high..and I had some very realistic dreams, and I got Tardive Dikensia..I was taking Glyberide and Gluphaphauge for the diabetes, Im still taking Zocor for my cholesterol, I really dont need to now..Since I took myself off this bad drug, my diabetes disappeared, the terrible pain in my feet disappeared, my cholesterol went down to normal, I no longer have teeth grinding and I dont have those terrible dreams where I use to hit my wife while I was asleep, and I broke 3 stereos that I had on my bedstand..I use to wake up from my dreams very scared and very angry....PLEASE, BEWARE OF THIS DRUG !!!!

:evil:  this medicine has caused me to have muscle spasms, a racing pulse, high blood pressure, i'm having dizzy spells.

RIGHT NOW it's 4 am i can't sleep because my pulse seems to be irregular, i get flashes of light coupled with noise and lightheadedness. this medication is awfull :evil:  :evil:  :evil:  please do not take it, tell everyone. this drug only took about two weeks to do this to me. i have not taken it since last night, i stopped when i got my first flash/noise/lightheadedness last night. still, tonight it's happened 3 or 4 times (i've lost count) i'm staying awake to call the hospital if i have to. i'm going to have to miss work tomarrow because of this nasty drug
