Prempro and Dementia

I would like to talk w/anyone who has either experienced or knows someone who has experienced signs of dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) after using Prempro. My mom is 57 years old, took prempro for 15 years, started menopause at age 39/40. There are so many things that our family needs to find out and I want to learn about any lawsuits we could be involved in..for my mom's sake and all the women out there who have experienced increased health risks because of this drug.  Anyone want to discuss? Thanks.

Re: Prempro and Dementia

I work with Young Living Essential Oils and we have a research clinic in Utah. Amoung some of the latest results of research done in the field of dementia and Alzhimers we have found these people have a very low level of testosterone.....both male and females. If this is the case with your mother ( have her testosterone levels checked) bring the levels up and go on a natural progesterone ( for the menopause) Clary Sage is known for balancing out the female hormones and easing the process of menopause.

Re: Prempro and Dementia

I too started menopause at age 39.   yikes
I started taking Prempro and my husband kept telling me he wanted his wife back that he married.  I thought it was just because I was a newlywed and was adjusting to married life.
I became forgetful, felt confused and indecisive a lot.
When the warnings came out, I tapered off it and I feel 100% better.
Now I take over the counter Estroven for the hot flashes and wish I had done this from the beginning.

Don't know if I answered your question about dementia, but it did cause me to have a change in my mental status for sure.
