vioxx dependency

Okay I'm addicted to the cox 2 inhibitor vioxx but lately it gives me bad stomach pains and nausea.
I tried to live without it and I can't. Lots of back and joint pain. Very hard to work.
Glucosimine and condroitin are worse on my stomach.Celebrex doesn't work.
Advil has no effect nor Tylenol or aspirin as I have been dealing with back pain for 30 years. Soma gives me relief but after just 2 doses I must increase the dose by 50% each time to have the same effect. So after just 1 day it is impratical to continue Soma.
Pain killers of all sorts have little effect and Vioxx was my only savior. What do I do now, as I hate pain and don't like to be drugged up.Is there a vioxx patch? or?

Re: vioxx dependency

I would really try to stop taking it.  My friend just found his mom dead today.  She was perfectly healthy and had been on VIOXX for over 4 years, we are trying to find out if this was the cause of her death.  We really are afraid it was.  For yourself and your family, try somthing else.

Prayers are with you,
Jackie
