Did Bextra cause it?

On October 20, 2004 I suffered and lived through 3 Pulmonary embolisms and do not have a family history of them.  I spent 5 days in ICU and another 2 days before I was released. An autonuclear antibody (ANA) blood test was performed on 10/21/04 with the result of 1:2560 and normal being 1:320.  I was told by my physician that my immune system was out of wack and the antibodies were attacking my good cells.  I have been on blood thinners since October 20th of this year and was told I may have to continue for at least a minimum of 1 year.  The doctors are still trying to figure out what caused it. I have read that when a person has Stevens-Johnson syndrome, the immune system changes and turns on the medicine taken and eventually good body tissue.  I have been taking Bextra since January 2003 for shoulder impingement.  I had my first clavicle resection (left shoulder) on October 2003 and my second (right shoulder on October 13th of 2004. I was told by several physicians that blood clots from this type of surgery are next to none.  I have been on and off Bextra during the 2 past years.  Since I was not taking it daily I wondered if my immune system was affected, but not to the point of Stevens-Johnson syndrome.  I stopped taking Bextra just before my surgery this year and the next ANA blood test done on 11/04/04 shows my count down to 1:680...still double the norm.
I feel strongly that my 3 blood clots in my lungs and my very high ANA counts may have been caused by taking the drug Bextra. The specialists are running out of tests to determine the cause.
Any one else have similar problems?
PS.  I received a letter today from Parker & Waichman and they do not feel my case merits their attention. :-?

Re: Did Bextra cause it?

Hello, we must be soul mate I had a very simmlar experaice as yours, I got a rejection letter from the Lawyers for the defense too.

I have been on Bextra for two years. I had sores develop on my arms and legs, and since Bexra was pulled those sores are healing.  I take celebrx now and it is not as effective as Bextra, but appearnely not as dnagerious. I experoanced uncontrolble nose bleeds and belleding from y rectum when trying to evacuate my bowels.

I have osteoaritis, and before bextrta had clear skin, and no odd bleeding.  I too was told thier was somthing amiss with my white blood cells.
