Has anyone heard anything at all on this case? I sent in all my paper work in April and every contact I've had with someone about this case was initiated by myself. I was told that if I hadn't recieved a rejection letter by now then I could safely assume that I was a part of the case.
So where is the case at now? How long, how long, how long is this going to take?
I'de rather not have this thing drag out for years, I'll happily take a settlement if the price is right!

I just read that Eli Lilly has entered into a settlement of 690 million but claims that there at least 8000 claiments..............
I realize that some of us have more severe cases of diabetes than others so it would make sense to give them more money than to others.
If divided evenly it is less than 100 thousand dollars each, after fees etc this would bring the value of the settlement to less than 50 thousand each.
What about ongoing medical care and related expenses?
I think a life long disease and all the complications related to it is worth more than 50 grand.
While I am happy to see something happen with this case I'm not happy about the amount.................
Call me greedy but I want more and I want life long medical coverage for this disease and all related complications and all medications and all lab work, etc....................
Since my diabetic condition is not as severe as some others I am sure if I take the settlement that my cut would much less than the estimated 50 grand....................
I am not sure I agree to a settlement at this stage.
Is there more to it than just 690 million to be slit up between 8000 persons?

Sugar, you were smart by getting in when you did. I only got in about 3 weeks ago. While this doesnt necessarily mean i will be rejected it does mean ill be waiting a month or two to find out whether or not i will be rejected.
I understand your concern with the amount as im sure different living conditions require a different financial situation. I for one would be over joyed to receive 50 grand. I am currently unemployed and without health insurance. 50 grand will makes things alot better.
As far as i know 690 million is the final amount. They wont be shelling out a penny more than that. Early in the case i heard that if indeed there was a settlement that it would be divided evenly. However this could be false. Deciding who gets what between 8000 people could prove to be tragic especially when you consider medical expenses vs. pain and suffering. Who knows?

Yes you are right that 50 grand would be a nice chiunk of change but it is the principle of the matter not the amount required to afford certain living expenses. even living modestly that 50 grand may only take you for 18 months.and what about all your medical expenses?
Diabetes is a life long disease with devastating complications, kidney failure, blindness, heart failure, amputation of feet and legs..........death.
I see my doctor every three months at $100 bucks a crack, lab tests every six weeks at $300 bucks a crack and medications that equal nearly $100 per months...........all of this is my share after insurance.
I feel Eli Lilly should pay all past and future medical expenses related to this nightmare and in addition a much bigger chunk of change for ruining my entire life forever....................
if that warning about "may cause diabetes" been in place I would never had taken the stupid drug!
I just spoke with oneo of the attorney handeling this case.........the term " in principle" means nothing is in written form as of yet, so nothing is final, and no guidlines for dividing up the sum has been set as of this date. I was told that it would depend on the severity of the medical damages.
I manage my disease with diet and exersise and be cause I was able to sucessfully do that I stand to gain a much smaller chunk of change than someone who is not able to control their disease. What about y future, what about the day that I have to take insulin or the day my kidneys finially quite( I am splilling protien in my urin now and am now taking yet another medication)
Again I am happy to see things moving along the right llines but not happy about the proposed settlement.
Eli Lilly grossed over 4.4 billion dollars in one year from this drug and they think a one time payout of 50 grand makes things better...............
I will not go quietly..................yet.
I hope that you are successful in the treatment of your disease and in seeking justice for the worng that has been done to you.
