Accutane, intended indicated for the treatment of severe, recalcitrant, nodular acne, has been linked with several serious side effects, including serious birth defects and suicide. Accutane, or Isotretinoin, is a retinoid that is related to retinoic acid and retinol, or Vitamin A. Isotretinoin inhibits sebaceous gland function and keratinization. Accutane treatment for 15 to 20 weeks results in complete and prolonged remission of acne is most patients. Sometimes, a second course of treatment is needed.

In addition to birth defects and suicide, Parker Waichman Alonso Mark LLP is investigating Accutane cases involving inflammatory bowel disease, crohn’s disease, colitis, loss of vision, loss of hearing and growth disc problems. If you or a loved one has been injured by Accuntane please complete the case inquiry form on the right side of this page for a free evaluation.

Possible Damaged Central Nervous System

Ok I took Accutane in the mid 80's when I was in my 20's.  When I was 28 I developed a drooping eyelid and it was passed off as just fat deposit or something and had eyelid surgery to correct it that in itself is a red flag to the damage of my central nervous system as I explain further here.  A few years later I developed turning of the eye or double vision which I still experiece today or to put it another way I found out I can't move my eyes left or right and this might have been the case when the drooping eyelid started.  Well, to make a long story short I saw a Neuro and he has put a DX of possible MS and the eye doctor says my eye conditon is Congental Fibrosis Syrdrone which something tells me their not sure.  Now all of this including depression occured at the time but the eyelid came a bit later but I would have to check the medical record or the doctor who has it now as the doctor who gave me the Accutane is dead.

I have a gut feeling a lot of my neuro problems I am having along with my feelings of depression still are the result of the Accutane use but how can I be sure and if it is the result of Accutane can I still sue the MFG? For I am 45 now and no one else in my family has anything like MS or The Congenital Fibrosis Syndrome.  I just feel something is up with all of my problems following Accutane which I can say did clear my acne up.

Any suggestion on what I can or should do next would be appreciated.
