Advair Side Effects

I went on Advair for asthma about 5 months ago - I started getting bad leg aches at night.  I have heard now that this is a side effect of Advair - I wanted to find out if anyone else has had this - and if so, how long did it last after you quit taking the Advair?  It has been 4 weeks and my legs still ache at night - nothing seems to relieve it.

Re: Advair Side Effects

I have been on Advair for 3 years. I never thought it could be related to the leg pains that I suffer with every night. Thanks for the heads up, I will have to do a little research on this drug now.  I will say one thing though, I  have not been back to the hospital with an asthma attack in 3 years.  It seems like there's side effects on everything!

Re: Advair Side Effects

Are you talking about cramps in your legs or a steady ache?  Any particular part of your legs?  I stopped taking Advair because of always having a cold while on it.  Haven't had one since and the leg cramps are much less of late also.

Re: Advair Side Effects

I had originally posted this in August of 2005.  Since then not only because of the leg aches (mainly in my thighs and hips) at night, but also because I found with ME that I was actually having to use my Albuterol Inhaler MORE often when taking Advair, AND I had an asthma attack and had to go to the hospital after taking Advair.  I went off of Advair in September and about Mid-December or so my nightly leg aches went away, AND I have not had to use an inhaler (Albuterol) rarely at all - I use it now about twice a month!!!  I am sensitive to new drugs, but this Advair was one of the worst for ME.  Thanks for sharing.

Re: Advair Side Effects

Meggie, the Advair ads warn that some people get serious reactions to one of the ingredients (serevent, I think).
