On May 20, 2004, my father suffered a massive heart attack and didn't survive. He started taking Celebrex in 2001 and was later switched to Bextra.
I believe that Celebrex/Bextra is directly related to his heart attack. I have been looking into filing a lawsuit; however, the attorneys I have spoken to have stated that there is not enough information or warnings available prior to his death (May, 2004)
Has anyone encountered this situation? Does anyone have any available resources prior to May 2004? (i.e magazine, newspaper articles)
Thanks in advance!

I took Bextra and suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest 8/24/04.
I am 51 yrs old and had taken Bextra for two years. I believe the drug companies were aware that there were problems with this drug, but patients were not told of these potentially deadly side effects.
You need to continue your search for an attorney, I believe you have been misinformed. I have a litigation against the drug manufacturer.

Based on much of the research I have done via the internet, magazines, and news says that the results of these trials (that contain the discriminating information) were not published until the Fall 2004. However, some of these studies were completed in as early as 2001.
This information was not made available to Dr.'s at the time of my father's death.
Can anyone verify this info?
We currently have hired a firm in reference to Pfizer's liability in this matter. Our roadblock seems to be in determining my fathers physician responsibility. We've also been looking into negligence charges because his physician doubled his dosage of Bextra (10mg to 20mg) the month before he died. (This was done without Dr.'s appt. and no symptoms to warrant increase.) Also, in 2003, his physician was prescribing Celebrex and Bextra simultaneously for the same symptoms.
Does anyone here have informational websites that may help others in their research? I know that I have spent an enormous amount of time online researching this subject. It would be great to be able to help others save time on this!
Are we allowed to post websites on here?
