I see drug reps at my doctors office every day. They cater lunches to the staff..not McDonalds, Tony Romas...Olive garden,etc...
Then, the doctors prescribe the drugs that the reps push. This should be illegal.

My Mom shot herself in the head after taking Cymbalta,
These reps. are pushing these drugs VERY hard, and this is causing
doctors to give people like my Mom who didn't need ANY antidepressant,
which caused her to Shoot herself.
I think I will wait outside doctors' offices and wait on drug reps to attempt to come in, I will kick their ass in the parking lot . Tie them up,
take them out into the country side and find out the truth and kick them some more !!!

If your doctor prescribes a drug just due to a lunch then get another doctor. Lunchs are brought in for reps to get a few minutes to talk to the doctor. Doctors don't prescribe drugs just because a rep brought lunch. They do it because you are in need of them.

Hi, folks,Iam new to this forum.
I really need help! I have been on prednisone now for 14 years,now my doctor wants me off.I was told that even if I tapper off slowly I may never come completely off the prednisone.My Doctor wants to replace it with soritane.I have a rare skin condition, and Im on a partial disability because of this.
Your help is needed.

Just take a look at the article in the Los Angeles Times Sept 16, 2006 page B14. The title is Drug Industry Swag. It tells about how the drug companies throw lavish parties for doctors and pay for trips to Hawaii. According to the article the Drug Companies dole out $21 billion dollars a year in marketing their drugs.
