Hi All! I am new to this board and I have a huge problem. My husband and I hired an attorney almost a year ago, gave her thousands of dollars as her "retainer" and have spent the last year chasing our tail with her. Even though she has been employed for a year we are still on "temp" custody and still paying the full child support even though we have one of the kids with us. My biggest problems are:
1. The attorney is nowhere to be found. I can't find phone numbers on her, but her website is still up. Went by her office but the neighbors all said she has moved out and the number we have is disconnected.
2. We have no case number, we have no idea how far she is on this case other then nothing has been done as far as we know. How are we to start a new case with another attorney if we have nothing to go by? Do we have any legal rights?
Does anyone have any idea how I should handle this?
Any advise is appreciated greatly!

CONTACT THE STATE BAR ASSOCIATION. THEY SHOULD KNOW WHERE SHE IS PRACTICING.

Thank you very much for replying to my question. We recieved a phone call from her today- of course full of excuses and placing blame on everyone but herself.
Again,
Thank you
