I don't see any topics regarding the recent Peanut Butter recall and wondered if anyone here has been affected by it.

I have also been affected by the Peanut Butter/Salmonella poisoning.

I decided to seek representation and I've never done this before. I've also never been quite so sick before.
I was just trying to learn more about how all this works and how other's were affected.
Did you have to seek medical help? I did.
Do you have the recalled product? I do- kinda creepy having it around... nasty stuff! I'll never eat peanut butter again! I sure am glad I didn't throw it away, but then I didn't realize that it was what was making me so sick.
Have you heard how many people are involved in this suit? I'm in Florida and heard that FL had many cases.
I'm just curious, anxious to share and compare.

I am seeking representation also, and have never done it before. I have never been so sick as then. I was not able to get to the Dr's office because I couldn't drive myself and everyone else was busy, but he did send me medication. I have not felt well since then, January 25th. 2007. My stomach hurt me daily. Last week, I have very severy pain and ended up at the dr office and in the hospital for a CT of my belly. I have a diverticulitis, which I have never had before, I mentioned to the Dr about the peanut butter, she said that may have been afective in this infection. I am getting all of the information together, along with records of all my medicine. I still don't feel totally well, but better.

I haven't felt well since becoming sick 2/1, course if I'd known what was making me sick I may have quit eating peanut butter sooner. I went in for chest pain last week and found out I have a couple cracked ribs...I think from the severe vomiting. I've never sued before, but this makes me mad. Does anyone else know if attorney fee of 40% normal? thought it would be less. Also do we pay attorney expenses if we lose the case?

My understanding is that if they lose, we pay nothing. Is that correct? Can someone else familiar with suits answer that.

I was a bit surprised at the percentage as well, however I know I would not pursue this on my own either, so I spose it's worth it (I hope!).
I called the atty's and asked re: procedure. They told me that there will be no fee unless they collect and a fee cannot be charged for more than they collect.
Catz, Shotsy- what part of the country are you located in?
I became sick in October 2006. I too ingested the product several times and after becoming violently ill like y'all, just hadn't eaten it again. Soooo glad I didn't get a hankerin' for any more peanut butter between then and the announced recall!!!!! The vile substance is awaiting trial in my cupboard!
Does anyone else have the product?
Sounds like you were all very ill because of this irresponsible dispensing of food. It took me over 1 month of continual antibiotics to begin to feel better. Getting back to 'normal' took a bit longer. I hope you will get some relief soon.
I sometimes wonder how exposure to this poison may have affected other systems in my body; conventional wisdom tells me that a poison has MANY negative affects. I pray that we all will get the antibiotics that cure the poisoning given to us and that our bodies will recover fully.
After hearing how the poison got to the product, I'm sure I'll never eat peanut butter again. Totally irresponsible and GROSS!!! We can send men to the moon a thousand times over but we can't safely distribute a simple food item (and staple) like peanut butter safely? Shameful, ConAgra.
I look forward to hearing more about everyone's contact with this poison and that talking about it here will unite us in sending a message to ConAgra and others like them.
