On September 15, 1997 the FDA asked American Home Products (now Wyeth), the manufacturer or fenfluramine (Pondimin) and dexfenfluramine (Redux) to voluntarily remove these drugs from the market. These anti-obesity drugs were prescribed by themselves or in combination with phentermine for weight loss. "Fen-Phen" refers to the use in combination of fenfluramine and phentermine.

The FDA decision to remove the drugs came after researchers at the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation reported 24 cases of rare valvular disease know as Primary Pulmonary Hypertension or PPH in women who took the "fen-phen" combination therapy. Subsequently, FDA received 66 additional reports of heart valve disease associated mainly with "fen-phen." There were also reports of cases seen in patients taking only fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine.

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension can take years to develop. If you or a loved on took Fen Phen and was diagnosed with PPH you may have valuable legal rights, please complete the case inquiry form of the right side of this page for a free consultation.

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

Showsteer, if you have a claim #, this info was attached to the motion for final distribution.  I can send you the exhibit with claim nos and payout info if you send me an email.  Or send me the claim # and I can look it up.

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

Showsteer, if you have a number of 25.96, then you have a DDR#. Look at any past correspondence from your attorney or simply call and ask him/her.

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

SHOWSTEER,

25.96 x $11,960 = $310,481.60.

That's the total amount you're entitled too. If what you want to know is the amount of your final distribution, just subtract whatever you were awarded as an interim distribution (before attorney fees were deducted) from that $310,481.60.

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

Hello everyone I have been reviewing this post for a while yes I am one of NKB client that opt out. Yes it true I went to boston hotel to meet and negotiate with him. Yes it is true he said that he was negotiating with APH.   I was one of the pony and dog show viticm.  I just want to know will I be included in the distribution of the supplemental class settlement.  I had to pay 33.3% to NKB.  Did I lose all rights to this settlement?

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

Nana,
If you've already recieved money as a class opt-out, then you aren't going to be recieving any of this 7th supplemental fund money. You don't get to do both, it's one or the other. Some people who were class opt-outs, but had previously submitted a green form to the trust, had the option of remaining a class opt-out OR participating in the 7th amendment and possibly recieving a portion of the supplemental fund. If you happen to be one of those people, then you MIGHT possibly be getting some of that money if you happened to also pass the 7th claim review. However, from the little you wrote in your post, it sounds like you already recieved money in some type of global settlement deal. So if that's so, then you won't be getting any additional money from the 7th fund.

Re: Final Distribution Approved today!

It'll be before mid May, the PTO gave the Trust 30 days from the date it was signed to process and mail payment.
