Death of Son

My son died of a heart attack April 21, 2001. He was only 28 years old. He was living in a rehab center. He was taking Clozapine and a diabetic. When the paramedic's arived. He was in his bed and the attendent was administering CPR. He had seen his exwife the night he died and when he left her he had no bruises on his face. I talked to him that night and he was looking forward to our visit. He told me he had to get off the phone to take his meds. I found this unacceptable that a 28 year old would die of a heart attack. So I talked to the coroner. He told me that the cranial brusing was probably caused by a fall. But his face looked like it was bashed in. So I contacted the paramedics and got a copy of the report. The report states he was dead upon their arival and in bed. The medics transported my son to a hospital when I feel that the coroners office and the police should have been contacted to start an investigation. I feel that the myocardia was caused by his use of the clozapine. I also had a toxicoligy report. As he was a diabetic they should have found insulin in his system they did not the only drugs found were 2 forms of antidepresents. He had to have died shortly after I spoke to him because the clozapine put him to sleep almost immediately. What dr in his right mind would give this drug to a over weight type 2 insulin dependent, diabetic. How can I get his medical records. And I did get the pictures of his face shots from the coroner and there was blood on his face. I live in Tx. and he died in Ohio making things more difficult. I contacted the police dept. but because of the coroners report they didn't do an investigation. The medics have told me to take pictures and their report along with the autopsy to the DA at this point in time I am not sure what to do next but I do need to find out what happened to my son, Thanks

SherryHoward@prodigy.net
I suffered a CVa(hemorraghic stroke)in June 2003, I too am a diabetic, but take pills to control.  After my TBI, i became very depressed and was prescribed Zoloft,, but it worked and I am over my depression.  I have been in this rehab center 6 wks so far, and no mixups, since when the facilities doctor prescribes a new med, I call my personal physician to check if compatible with my other meds.  I am sorry about your son,MayGodbless you and shine his light upon you and you family
