On January 22, 2004 I was in a car accident.  I was in the left turn lane with my fiance in the car in front of me.  Light turned green and he proceeded and went through the intersection, I followed not even making it that far when I was hit.  The other guy was coming straight through the intersection.  I was 7 months pregnant at the time and 7 hours after the accident my daughter died.  The officer who filled out the report didnt issue any tickets but said it was my fault.  Because I was making a left turn it was my fault.
At first of course I was concerned for my baby and wasnt thinking about anything thing else.  Once I was out of the hospital and in my own home was when I really started thinking about the accident. 
Alot of it was a blur and I am still traumatized from it all.  I cant and wont even drive, it scares me too bad.  We do have a lawyer helping us because the whole accident was just messed up.
The police report cant be entered into evidence because he wasnt there.
But the questions I have are, if I was making a left turn, why did the guy hit my the front of my car on the drivers side?  I hadnt made it a few feet into the intersection and hadnt even started to turn when he hit me.  How are over in my lane was he to hit me? (The intersection is sort of offset so he had to been strattled between the 2 lanes)  How fast was he going to do that much damage to my car?  I had just pulled out from a dead stop so I couldnt have been going more than 10 mph if that.  There is just alot of things that I have questions about and hope that our lawyer can get justice done for my baby girl and prove this guy was a complete a$$ and wasnt being responsible.  He was on his cell phone too.  The part that hurts also, was he was like I am more concerned for you because my wife is at home 6 months preg.  That is what he said to me when I was like I am sorry I didnt see you.  That is the thing, I DID NOT see him.  It was dark so I would have seen headlights.  Where the he!! did he come from.    The only witness(which is messed up cause the intersection was busy but only one witness) she told me that she didnt even see him and that she almost got hit because she was right behind me.  The whole siutation is messed up.  I just want justice done for my baby girl.  I wish if they found that guy at fault he could be punished for killing my daughter.  In my belly or not, he killed her.
There is alot more to my story but since this a message board for car accidents I wont get into the other things, unless you want to know.  Basically I have questions about how the EMT's handled me and the ER.  I will leave it at this right now.  Thanks for listening.
