15 year old seatbelted daughter was passenger in a 1995 Monte Carlo. Side front impact at low speed into tree. Airbag deploys at same time UNBELTED rear seat passenger hits back of passenger seat & throws my daughter into the deploying bag.
It knocks her out, gives her a concusion, ocular trauma, bruises & burns to her face & bruised hand from being thrown into windshield.
Now suffers from grand mal seizures due to the head injury.
Anybody have issues about low impact/ airbag deployment?
Anybody ever try to sue a car manufacturer for agressive airbag?

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she is progressing nicely. My father-in-law was just in an accident where neither of his airbags went off. He was traveling around 50 mph and ran into another car. He spent over 2 weeks in intensive care and over 8 weeks in the hospital. He has lost some hearing along with sight in one of his eyes.
Have you had any luck suing the manufacturer?
I look forward to your response.
Thanks, Travis

On 11/14/03 my 12 year old daughter was in the front seat of my 2003 Ford F150 truck and we were involved in a low speed accident. The air bags deployed, knocked her out, facial burn and bruises resulted. Worst part is she lost partial hearing in her left ear, has nerve damage to left side of face, has developed migraines, and seizures since then. Anyone else been through anything like this?

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I was involved in an auto accident myself where I was at fault; however, I was the only one injured in the accident. Due to the airbag deploying and my proximity to the steering wheel, I had lacerations, cuts, and minor bruising to the neck and face. I am thinking of suing the airbag manufacturer as well. I don't know if I would have a case since the car is a total loss and this happened almost three weeks ago. Does anyone have advise for me?

I was also in a low-speed parking lot fender bender. The accident seems to have hit directly on a sensor. Minimal damage to the car, but you can see my arm at this website: www.megaband.net/sykotic/burns where I have at minimum, 2nd degree burns. We had an incident report opened with the car manufacturer for this 2006 Honda Accord (I notice the 2005's have a recall for front airbags). Honda REFUSED to speak to us. No one wants to go after the airbag manufacturers or the car dealers. There is a lot of information on the net that I am now looking at. Please email me if you have something that you wish to have posted on my site. I can be reached at airbagburns@gmail.com
