I am curious. What kind(s) of mistakes did the lawyers make?  I just hope they weren't trying to pull a fast one and think that maybe the clients wouldn't be informed and/or paying attention.

Thanks Cinnamon. My attorney also sent me a letter saying that I will not get my check until after May 20. He referred my case to a third party attorney several years back. Anyway, the letter is very vague about what attorney fees will be deducted. I called the office this morning and the receptionist said neither my attorney nor the accountant who drafted and signed the letter is available.  In the first interim disbursement I received my check less 40% less another $3000 in expenses. At that time my attorney said that was the extent of expenses. I am a little concerned since they won't talk to me and I think they will draft and print what they think is my net check amount.

Did you receive a copy of the check for the class council already ? I thought we would receive that letting us know how much they had mailed to our attorneys. cinnamon, I have not recieved the letter from CC yet.. I had DebbieL look my info up on Pacer back when they released what each one of us should get and I deducted his part from it and about knew what I was to recieve. When I got the check it was 12,000 short of what I thought. So I called them and they explained that the computer spread sheet had calculated something wrong, they are calling all their clients and telling them we have another check coming. Last time the lawyer called me and told me to expect it, but this time he didnt even call. I guess he knew we already knew to expect them. I hope you get yours soon.

They only charged me an extra $16.00 for expenses this time, I think to pay for the shipping overnight.

I think just about everyone has already gotten their money. A month is waaaaaaaaaaay too long. Ugh, there's that fishy smell again!!

I am still waiting also, but my attorney is holding mine untill the lein from Medicare is resolved. I have been waiting since February to hear from Medicare. Since I had Mitral and Aortic replacement surgery in 2007, Medicare has to be reimbursed a certain percent of my total claim recovery. I am hoping they will be very lenient with me.

Well hello LKC.  I'm sure you are glad the move is over.  There are some that haven't been paid yet so you aren't alone in that respect.  I'm glad to see you posting again.

Marie (or anyone who migh know)... who retains the echos? My doctor has ordered a new echo for me (yikes) and would like to see the one from 2002 for comparison.
